Organising a fun activity for a group can be stressful! It needs to be relaxed and unique but not too hard to pick up.
Join us for an afternoon on the greens playing Barefoot Bowls. It’s easy to play, social and not too serious – you can even enjoy a drink and a bite to eat between bowls! At the end of the day it’s not really about the game anyway, it’s about the people you played it with.

Bowls is an easygoing game, but we do have a few
house rules to keep things on the straight and narrow:
Go barefoot, or wear flat soled shoes
When on the greens please take off your shoes and go barefoot (it is barefoot bowls after all) or wear flat soled shoes/ thongs. We do ask that you pop your shoes back on when you are walking around our venue and coming into the Clubhouse.
Please keep all food and drinks off the green
Food and drinks are not permitted on the green at any time, even when walking to the other end – this helps us keep them in tip top condition. If you wish to take your drink to the other end, please walk round the green. You can enjoy your drink in the sun-shaded seating around.
Please don’t BYO
We are licensed venue and have plenty of great food and cold drinks available to purchase. We cannot allow outside food and beverage to bought in, with the exception of birthday cakes (however we can’t store the cake for you).
Ditches are not for sitting
Please don’t sit on the ditches (these are the edges with the sand in them). If you’d like to take a seat, please use the benches and undercover seating around the green.
Bowls need to be rolled down the green, not thrown
This damages our greens and is unsafe. If you do throw your bowl above knee height, it will be game over for you. Your Barefoot Bowls host will show you the how to correctly deliver a bowl before you start.
Keep an eye on your kids
Children under 18 must be supervised at all times. Please don’t let your little ones play in the sand around the green.
There is no smoking on the greens. Your Barefoot Bowls host will be able to point you in the right direction for the designated smoking area.
We take the responsible service of alcohol seriously. We will not serve alcoholic beverages to those under the age of 18 years, or to any person considered to be intoxicated. This is our call, and we reserve the right to exclude or remove any persons from the event or the Club’s premises.
How to Play
Lawn Bowls is the game that takes a second to learn,
but a lifetime to master.
Your Barefoot Bowls host will take you through all the finer points on how to play, but if you’d like to get a leg up on the rest of your group (or share this info with them) the team at Bowls Australia have some great info and video that provides a great video introduction.
